#teachme Sounds a little crazy teaching you how to breathe, but for most of us, we have no idea!
You're most likely thinking - what are you talking about? If I wasn't breathing, I wouldn't be living! Yes this is true which we call involuntary breathing and if this didn't happen then yes you would be physically dead - fact!
However most of the time we are breathing shallow and feeling tired, anxious and possibly unwell. But all that can change and it starts with practicing breathing daily and preferably first thing in the morning.
So why and how? Breathing deep into the lungs does wonders for rejuvenating our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional bodies. As we breath deep into the lungs we expand and detox the body, we allow nutrients and oxygen to flow through the body and nourish the organs.
Emotionally its allows you to be less reactive, you feel calmer and set yourself up to be the best version of yourself.
Mentally your mind becomes less busy and focused.
Spiritually it allows you to get in-tune with yourself and opens yourself up to go deeper into the connection with a greater consciousness - God, spirit, universe etc...
How do we do this? Take some time first thing in the morning for yourself - best when there is no one else is awake.
Find a quiet place to sit with your spine straight. Rest your left hand on your thigh, take your right hand on place your thumb on your right nostril, your pointer and middle finger resting on your forehead and ring finger ready to block the left nostril.
With the right nostril blocked, inhale through left nostril for 7 seconds,
exhale right for 7 seconds, inhale right 7 seconds and exhale left 7 seconds, repeat 7 times...
Sit and feel how amazing you feel!
